What's in the box?
Just about everything! This is one of the most complete ARTF's on the market today. This great-looking, high-quality, all-balsa/ply/fibreglass plane comes 90% built and is already covered and trimmed!
What's left? Just a bit of assembly (construction does not even apply here!) that takes only a few hours. You will need to provide your own engine, transmitter, receiver, switch harness, battery pack, aileron extensions, glow plug and epoxy, but everything else is in the box. The Bobcat has created a new dimension within the ARTF market. Its construction, factory-installed components, ease of assembly and great flight performance all make this kit outstanding value. The supplied hardware kit has proved to be a perfect match for the airframe and works very well. ARTF's have indeed come a long way.
Engines
The most balanced power unit suitable for this model obviously depends on your personal objectives of speed and performance. However, the powerful Tiger Shark 1.20 is a match that cannot be faulted, even the long cylindrical muffler looks like an integral part of the models engineering. Add a superb Weston Genesis Tuned Pipe and you have a magic recipe for that all important adrenaline rush.
This model will fly adequately on a 1.20 but we have had reports of individuals using 1.50 engines and similar for greater speed. However, improved results are not hugely noticeable if at all. Small turbines may be fitted utilising the purchasers own skill and initiative.
Retractable Undercarriage
This superb ARTF kit comes ready to fit your favourite retractable undercarriage. In the event you are not intending to undertake the expense of an Air retract system the kit is supplied with a heavy duty wire undercarriage as a standard fit. All recesses are laser cut, pressed mouldings and hard wood fittings are installed ready to go. |
